Cambodian Paralympic adivisor

Australian citizen Chris Minko organized and helped form the Cambodian paralympic team.


Spa Nimisca, situated on the side of a steep, heavily wooded forest overlooking a lake and the Slovakian Alps, is a former exclusive resort of the ruling communist elite, which now operates as a privately run health resort.

Players relax after a fine meal of goulash at the gulag.


It’s an imposing Stalinist-architectural type structure, which is fondly renamed the Gulag (as in Goulash at the Gulag) distance. A very beautiful, if somewhat haunting landscape.

The competition venue is located in the town of Puchov, a town of 15,000 with its architecture being an ill fitting match of medieval houses and grey Stalinist housing blocks of 15 floors and upwards.

Downtown consists of a few shops that have a limited supply of goods and patrons.


Lots of fog, rain, and daily temperatures of around 15 degrees which, oddly the Khmers all seemed to enjoy.
